Our journey started almost exactly four years ago we both started studying at CODE University. Last summer, we once again started a new adventure together when we got selected to spend a summer at Stanford. And that's also when baobae was born.
Over both our (fairly young) lifetimes we have seen the same thing over and over again. People (*cough* us and our friends) juggling work, friends, hobbies, sleep, eating and their relationships all at the same time. With nothing out there to make it at least a lil bit easier. 🥲
Time, values, expectations and vision of life become the main topics for couples in their 20s. And talking about these things + putting them into action is nothing you learn at school or really anywhere.
This started bothering us because the science is so clear: healthy relationships are one of the most significant factors in happiness and life satisfaction. It's not just nice to have—it fundamentally changes your quality of life. Our generation has apps for everything except the thing that might matter most?!
Markus is an engineer and I'm a product generalist, so we decided to pull up our sleeves and build it. We're both curious about psychology, human connection and what actually makes life worth living. While we discuss a lot, on one thing we're 100% aligned: relationships should have less mental load and more quality time.
